Community Board 3 is the local board for the East Village and the Lower East Side. Its members are volunteers appointed by the Borough President and our Council members. Once a month the full board meets in public and votes on the recommendations of its committees.
On October 27 it votes on the plan its Parks Committee endorsed on October 15, which closes the basketball courts, the calisthenics park and the courtyard for two years. Public comment comes first, so be there at 6:30pm sharp.
Why it matters
This is the final hearing on the plan. Board members need to see the people who use the park. A full room shows them who this plan hurts. Bring friends, and bring banners that show how this plan will disrupt your community.
